As of today, I have put online an AI application that can answer questions, in this case regarding the topic "advice on non-toxic glazes for ceramics". This Chat with documents LLM application uses the recently developed technique of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), where this online app for answering user questions takes existing textual sources as a basis, collects relevant fragments from them for answering the question, and leaves the composition of the final answer to a Large Language Model (LLM).It is important to realize that I can make a similar AI-driven application for any conceivable domain or subject where sufficient basic texts are available, with similar functionality. Think of help desks, where often scripts are already present to answer user questions with the help of those texts. This could now be done fully automatically with this online app! A fully automated online helpdesk, so to speak!
