As our (Junior) Health & Safety Specialist, you will be responsible for developing and implementing the Health and Safety guidelines, policies, and procedures, in accordance with the local laws and regulations for our locations in Europe.

With over 1000 team members in Europe, you will have an important role in health and safety related topics. You will act as an advisor, as well as a sparring partner for managers throughout the organization.

You will be working in the HS&E (Health, Safety & Environment) team with 3 other team members and report to the Director HS&E.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand and comply with Applied Medical’s Quality System (QS), safety rules and company policies
• Develop, implement, and monitor company policies, processes, and methods on health and safety
• Ensure compliance with all required legislation, practices, and relevant standards
• Perform risk assessments and evaluations or other actions to minimize, mitigate or eliminate risk
• Develop and perform trainings
• Perform root cause analysis for work related incident and accident investigations
• Support departments in developing, implementing, and maintaining department specific health and safety procedures
• Provide guidance about work assessment for third-party contractors hired by the company
• Participate and support internal and external audits

What you bring

• Bachelor's degree in H&S related field
• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in a similar position
• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English or Dutch
• Knowledge of standards such as ISO13485, ISO14001, and ISO45001
